LEARN, ASK, ACT: Find Your Voice in Local Government

What: A non-partisan educational forum to learn about county and state government. The panel includes state and local elected officials, a journalist and a successful activist known for turning community organizing into legislative success.  This event is designed to provide a variety of perspectives on how to engage with local leadership to get your voice heard and have an impact on the issues you care about.

When: Thursday, October 26 from 7-9 pm

Where: Sherwood High School, 300 Olney Sandy Spring Rd, Sandy Spring, MD 20860

Who: The following guest speakers are confirmed:

Eric Luedtke - Current member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 14 in Montgomery County.  (Wootton High School and UMD graduate.)

Nancy Navarro - County Council Member for District 4 in Montgomery County

Dan Reed - local writer, journalist, blogger who specializes in reporting regional issues in Montgomery County. He has a regular column in Washingtonian and his blog is Just Up the Pike. He's also board member of the Action Committee for Transit.

Vincent DeMarco – national leader on how to build a successful legislative effort; subject of Michael Pertschuk’s 2010 book, The DeMarco Factor: Turning Public Will into Political Power
